Accessibility Courses and Workshops
Our training courses cover a wide range of access-related subjects from disability equality training through to new legislation and technical standards.
Courses are informative, practical and effective. They are delivered by experienced Access Consultants and all delegates receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Disability Equality & Awareness Training
This course focuses on understanding the needs of people with disabilities, it covers:
- Definition of disability & the social model of disability
- Identification of disability groups and their needs
- Practical workshop sessions including simulation of sensory loss, cognitive impairments and reduced mobility
- Practical etiquette tips
This course is ideal for frontline staff, including receptionists, cashiers, shop assistants, teachers, drivers and anyone dealing with the public. It is also applicable to managers and senior staff especially in relation to the Disability Equality Duty (DDA 1992).
Training courses can also be tailored to focus on delivering specific services.

Technical Standards & Inclusive Design training workshop
This course covers the key technical standards for accessibility:
- AS1428 1-4, Part D3 of the Building Code of Australia
- Access Statements
- Best practice design guides
- Principles and application of inclusive design
- Photographic examples of good & bad practice
Specific design requirements are covered, including how to calculate visual contrast for colour schemes; what types of hearing enhancement systems are needed; means of escape for people with disabilities.
This course is aimed at architects, surveyors, engineers, building control officers, planners, access auditors and associated professionals. Training can be tailored to the design of specific buildings or services, e.g. retail, schools, offices, country parks.
